Thailand Adventure: From Jungle Treks to Deep-Sea Dives

From the vibrant streets of Bangkok to the tranquil jungles of Chiang Mai and the crystal-clear waters of Railay, Thailand is a land of endless discovery. Trek through remote villages, dive into the Andaman Sea, savor world-renowned street food, and unwind with a traditional Thai massage. This journey is a perfect blend of thrill, culture, and relaxation—where every moment is an adventure waiting to unfold.

Day 1–2: Nov 18–19 | Pattaya – Coastal Escape

Leaving the chaotic energy of Bangkok behind, we set off for Pattaya, a coastal city known for its lively atmosphere and beautiful beaches. We spent two days exploring:


✔️ Island hopping to Koh Larn, snorkeling in crystal-clear waters

✔️ Parasailing over Pattaya Bay, soaring above the turquoise sea with a bird’s-eye view of the coastline

✔️ Visiting the Sanctuary of Truth, an awe-inspiring wooden temple showcasing Thai craftsmanship

✔️ Enjoying the nightlife and seaside dining along Walking Street, indulging in fresh seafood and vibrant entertainment



Day 3–4: Nov 20–21 | Bangkok – Temples, Markets & Relaxation


Returning to Bangkok, we immersed ourselves in its rich history and lively streets:


✔️ Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew – home of the revered Emerald Buddha

✔️ Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) – climbing the steep steps for a breathtaking panoramic view

✔️ Floating through the canals of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, sampling fresh tropical fruits and Thai delicacies

✔️ Indulging in street food—pad thai, mango sticky rice, and Thai iced tea


✔️ Relaxing with a traditional Thai massage at Wat Pho, the birthplace of Thai massage, where centuries-old techniques melted away our exhaustion


Day 5: Nov 22 | Arrival in Chiang Mai


Checked into Amora Tapae Hotel

✔️ Explored Chiang Mai’s charming Old City temples

✔️ Wandered through the lively Night Bazaar, shopping for handmade crafts and souvenirs


Day 6–8: Nov 23–25 | Jungle Trek & Hill Tribe Adventure



Day 6: Thursday, November 23, 2006 – Jungle Trek Begins!


Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai

✔️ Departed for a 3-day jungle trek into the remote wilderness of Northern Thailand

✔️ Trek Highlights:

Hiked through dense rainforests & bamboo groves

Crossed suspension bridges & followed hidden trails

Swam in a jungle waterfall, cooling off from the humid trek


Lahu Village 

✔️ Evening – Overnight in a Lahu Village

Met the Lahu hill tribe, known for their unique culture and traditions

Enjoyed a home-cooked meal by the fire

Slept in a bamboo hut, listening to the sounds of the jungle


Day 7: Friday, November 24, 2006 – Jungle Adventure Continues


✔️ Trekking deeper into the jungle, spotting exotic birds & wildlife

✔️ Elephant riding through the mountain trails

✔️ White-water rafting on the Mae Taeng River

✔️ Evening – Another night in the wilderness, bonding with fellow trekkers


Day 8: Saturday, November 25, 2006 – Return to Civilization


✔️ Final trek back to Chiang Mai

✔️ Checked into Avana Hotel, Bangkok

✔️ Night market visit for souvenirs


Day 9–14: Nov 26–30 | Railay Beach – Diving & Paradise


Nov 26: Flew to Krabi, checked into Sand & Sea Resort, Railay

Nov 27: Relaxed on Railay West Beach, explored the stunning Phra Nang Cave

 





Nov 28–29: Earned PADI Open Water Dive Certification with Aqua Vision 5-Star IDC Dive Center



Diving Log Highlights


Nov 28:

Dive 1: Koh Dok Rai (10m depth) – Regulator recovery & mask cleaning

Dive 2: Shark Point (Hin Bida) (13m depth) – White-eye moray eel, lionfish, trigger


Nov 29:

Dive 3: Shark Point (Hin Bida) (15.5m depth) – Cuttlefish & squid sighting

Dive 4: Maya Wall North (18m depth) – Lionfish, clownfish, triggerfish


After earning PADI certification, we toasted with ice-cold Singha beers- celebrating adventure, resilience, and the endless wonders waiting beneath the waves.

 



Day 15–16: Dec 1–2 | Bangkok – Farewell to Thailand


After an unforgettable experience in Railay, we flew back to Bangkok, where we spent our final days:

✔️ Exploring the modern side of Bangkok at Siam Paragon & MBK Mall

✔️ Another traditional Thai massage, the perfect way to end an incredible journey

✔️ Sipping cocktails at the Vertigo Rooftop Bar, overlooking the city skyline


On Dec 2, we bid farewell to Thailand—an adventure filled with culture, nature, and unforgettable experiences.

We’ll Always Have Morocco

Day 3: From Blue Dreams to Golden Walls-Chefchaouen to Fes Morning in Chefchaouen felt like waking inside a watercolor. The town, cloaked in every shade of blue, shimmered quietly beneath the watchful Rif Mountains. Before the day stirred to life, we wandered its labyrinthine alleys with Abduh Lah—our local guide, warm, funny, and full of stories. With a twinkle in his eye, he led us through the peaceful Kasbah gardens and hidden corners bursting with color and culture. His pride in his hometown added a heartbeat to every step.
